Mexico’s Sun

IMG_0091-2

For nine straight days, I felt the warmth on my skin of my home country and I couldn’t be happier (and more golden) about it. Spring is among us, and Mexico let me get a little taste of the things I could wear once it gets warmer in the states! Taking a break from all the rush and enjoying 9 days of secluded land was much needed in order to keep my mind happy. I actually waited last minute to pack for this trip and decided to stop by Madewell the day before my flight, per usual. Somehow I managed to pick out pieces in 15 minutes and they made up the majority of my outfits. Light weight free-flowing fabric is what I look for when deciding what items to pack to Mexico since it can get fairly humid. I can’t wait to wear this top here in the U.S. paired up with a pair of skinny dark or white denim.

Goodbye, Summer.

image

I think plenty of us wait all year for Summer, and I am definitely included in that bunch, but what does that mean for us during the other seasons? Do we halt everything else around us just because it’s not summer?

This summer was the best one yet. I traveled around, worked a promotion in my full time job, and went to school at night, but still managed to get plenty of sun and meet a lot of beautiful faces. I like to think that the sun and Popsicles helped me get through all the hard work, but will I stop now that Summer is stopping too? I don’t plan on it, and neither should you. Here’s to making the best out of the next season……… with great coats and scarves as layers.

Beige Life

The Cotton Box Cut T - Everlane | Striped Pencil Jeans - Fossil (sold out online) | Black leather single strap sandals - Bare Traps (Thrifted) | Mini brown faux leather shoulder bag - F21
I've been waiting for Spring time to finally arrive so I could wear my new pair of Fossil denim. Everlane makes my absolute favorite T's so it's no surprise with the pairing there. I've never owned a pair or white bottoms so it was a huge jump for me to get my booty (literally) into white navy blue striped ones. Investing in these babies would be like Scottie P. would say, "NO RAGRETS!"

Music Monday: Flume

We all have heard of Skrillex, Zedd, Tiesto, Steve Aoki, and/or Calvin Harris. If you haven't, you've probably lived under a rock all your life or have never turned on the radio. Flume is a also a DJ, but this 23 year old Australian is not your typical DJ. I wouldn't even classify them under the same category as DJs. Some have classified his music as trippy pop, experimental, and electronica, but I've just classified it under "the songs you need to listen to in order to get shit done". He's become close friends with Lorde and has taken a spin on her hit single Tennis Court, which I personally prefer over the original. You'll be seeing a lot of him this year (FINALLY) I'm sure, as he's going to be one of the headliners at Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza. How's that for making a first impression?

Give a listen to Hermitude - HyperParadise (Flume remix) if I haven't convinced you enough and my all time favorite track by Flume - Sleepless ft. Jezebel Doran.
