Music Monday: BANKS
Jillian Banks, BANKS, first got my attention when SOHN (one of my favorite musicians) produced BANKS's song Waiting Game last year. "What if I never even see you 'cause we're both on a stage. Don't tell me listen to your song because it isn't the same." Yea, those are some of the lines off Waiting Game and I all of a sudden felt like I was married to Justin Timberlake and he was breaking my heart for always performing. This would only happen in my dream life, but what I'm trying to say is the beat of her songs are only accessories to her voice that make you feel things you wouldn't actually feel in real life. You feel me? As an individual I've become less and less open about my personal emotions, still trying to figure out if that's a good or bad thing, so when I can listen to a headstrong voice like BANKS's and feel something, it means a lot. I felt so much frustration and understanding, all at the same time, when I heard Change (produced by Tim Anderson). I know that a lot of woman will understand exactly what I'm talking about.
