Music Monday Spotlight: Chromeo
I've been impatiently waiting for May 12th for some time now and guess what today is? Yes, I know we all have fancy phones that give us the date but just to clarify, it is May 12th. This means Chromeo's highly anticipated album, White Women, is officially out now!
If you're guessing that I pre-ordered this, edgy and risky titled album, and have already boogied down to every track, then you are correct. For those of you who have little knowledge on this magnificent duo, then let me introduce you to your soon to be summer tunes.
So basically, if Daft Punk and Back to the Future had anything to do with each other then they would create the two Canadian electrofunk artists, David Macklovitch and Patrick Gemaye. These two are making it feel like summer with impressive performances like the one at Coachella with Toro Y Moi that got thousands of hooked to "Come Alive", and Jimmy Kimmel introduced the song of summer "Jealous (I Ain't With It)" where Chromeo had even the mainstream media hyped.
Saving the best for last, if you know me personally you'll know that I'm VERY fond of Ezra Koenig (lead singer of Vampire Weekend) so yes, I screamed internally when I found out that (perfect human being) Ezra worked with Chromeo to produce "Ezra's Interlude" made up of serene sounds.

If you don't get this album then you don't deserve summer, and trust me you don't want to miss out on summer this year!
